FLORIDA FIRST LOOK: NORTHERN COLORADO

After a disappointing opening loss to Michigan, the Gators will face another team with blue as a color when they host the Northern Colorado Bears. Here is your first look at the Bears.

SEASON SO FAR

The Northern Colorado Bears of the FCS Big Sky Conference opened their season on Saturday with a 41-14 victory over NAIA foe College of Idaho. What an FCS team is doing playing a NAIA team, I have no clue. After the FCS, there is Division II and Division III before you get down to NAIA. The mighty Bears bolted out to a 35-0 second quarter lead before the guys from Idaho could garner some points. Quarterback Jacob Knipp (6-4, 210, RS-Jr.) led the Bears going 17 for 27 for 238 yards. He was sacked three times by the NAIA opponents. Trae Riek (5-11, 200, RS-Jr.) ran for 74 yards on 18 carries for three touchdowns. Defensively, senior linebacker James Riddle (6-4, 195) finished with six tackles to lead the Bears. For the game, UNC passed for 249 yards on 18 of 32 completions. The Bears as a team gained 159 yards on 40 carries.

In 2016 UNC team finished with a 6-5 record.

INJURIES AND SUSPENSIONS

None reported.

CHALLENGES

This is a game that Florida should win handily. If the Gators show up healthy they should win. Avoid eating food that might be questionable or going near other people with contagious diseases. Oh, no running to the bookstore to buy electronic devices on school issued credit cards. Most importantly, don't overlook UNC.

Saturday's game starts at Noon ET and will be shown on Watch ESPN. Check back for our 3 keys to a Florida victory.
