The Florida Gators host Vanderbilt on Saturday in Gainesville. Here is your first look at the Commodores.

Vanderbilt (3-1, 0-1 SEC) opened the season with a dominating 28-6 victory at Middle Tennessee. The following week the Commodores thrashed FCS Alabama A&M 42-0. In week 3 the Commodores upset No. 18 Kansas State, 14-7. Most recently Vandy was steamrolled by Alabama 59-0. Vanderbilt averages 21 points scored per game. Defensively Vandy allows opponents 18 points per contest. The Commodores have gained an average of 279 yards on offense while allowing 318. Ralph Webb is Vandy’s leading rusher with 169 yards on 64 carries (2.6 ypc). Quarterback Kyle Shurmur has completed 53 of 84 passes for eight touchdowns and one interception. 09/24/17 DB Bryce Lewis Undisclosed “?” Saturday vs. Florida
09/24/17 CB Taurean Ferguson Suspension “?” Saturday vs. Florida

This is a game that Florida can’t afford to sleep on.  It would be easy to assume that Vanderbilt is not a very good team because of their ugly loss to Alabama.  However, it must be remembered that the Commodores had what it takes to pull off a win over a ranked Kansas State team the week prior.  Florida has the longest list of injured/suspended players in college football. They’ll need some solid play from their younger players and veteran backups in order to pull this one out.
